A.J. Mangum is an award-winning writer, publisher and magazine editor, and has worked as a journalist for nearly 25 years. A graduate of Oregon State University, where he studied business and journalism, he began his career as a newspaper reporter in Colorado, covering education, sports and politics. As a magazine journalist, he has written extensively on agriculture, environmental issues, science and technology, and the culture of the contemporary North American West. He has served as the editor of three national magazines, and is the author of the nonfiction collection Undiscovered Country.
The Frontier Project Inc. is a publishing and media venture launched by A.J. Mangum in 2010. The company has produced a variety of video projects and has published 11 books, including collections of fiction and nonfiction, as well as works on fine art, photography and craftsmanship.
